HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called my son today to say Happy Birthday and found out he has the flu. I feel so bad that he is sick on the day he turns 6 :-). How about that!!!. I love you Big Boy!!!

Allergic Reaction 2-11-07

On day 4 I woke up with a rash over my body. I went to get some benadryl but they do not sell that at the PX. So I went to medical to get some and they could only give me a shot at 1st because of the amount of bumps I have on me and because they wanted to stop me from scratching them so much. SO they gave me the shot and I had to walk from medical to my trailer and I was feeling good about 20 minutes later. All I know when I woke up later that night I was still fully clothed with my pistol still attached to my hip. The next day I felt like I had a hang over from Toledo. I was told I am one of the rare cases where I am allergic to the water we wash in so now I have to get soap with antibacterial in it to wash in.. See they use a lot of chemicals to clean the water and they just don't agree with my skin I guess. So for the next 2 weeks I am on Zyrtec and Benadryl. I have delicate skin, thanks mom. :-)

Here 2-8-07

I finally made it to my destination at 0201 this morning. I did not have a room, and I was so much looking forward to it. But they did give me a cot to sleep on in a tent and it was nice and warm in there. I showered and went right to sleep.

Almost made it out of this Place 2-7-07

Yesterday we came so close to moving to our final destination. Our flight was scheduled and we were all prepared to get on the our way. You heard everyone talking about settling in there living areas and being able to unpack. Well we moved to the flight line at 2005 to wait for the helo, 10 minutes into the wait we were told to standby because the helo was grounded due to low visibility. So we waited and waited and waited, and slept, woke up, and slept some more, and waited some more. Finally about 0130 or so they tell us to go back to our tents and maybe we will get a flight out later that night. Honestly I was not upset because I figured things happen for a reason , I had previously said a prayer asking God to make sure it was safe for us to fly tonight to help the pilot get us to our destination safe and I guess He felt we needed to wait another day. Let His will be done.

Cherop Lydia from Africa 2-6-07

I was standing in the bathroom packing my bag when this young lady came up to me and started asking me about why I was here in this country. I told her my job sent me here and I am here to do some networking. She asked my name and I told her and she said it was very difficult to pronounce so I told her to just call me Jaye. Her name is Lydia, hence the title. She then went on to ask me if I had children and I replied yes I have 2 handsome little boys. She asked their names and I told her. She then asked where was the father and I told her they were adopted, she looked at me like I was smoking a pipe. I asked he what was wrong, and she stated that in Africa I would be abnormal because I did not give birth to them. In Africa you have to give birth to at least 3-4 children in order to get resources and to help harvest the land. She stated that things will be changing because of the limited welfare resources they do not require women to have so many children. I told her I would try to visit Africa sometime to see what it is like there. Then she asked if I knew Oprah.

Sand Storm #1 2-6-07

Today I experienced my 1st sand storm and it was terrible. The sand is so fine until you do not even see it coming. Then the wind got stronger and it suddenly became very foggy, with the sand that is. We had a formation to get our ID cards back and I was standing behind this female with her pretty little bun in her hair and it was filled with sand. I wish I could have taken a picture of it to show you all. I must say that I was glad I cut my hair. Thanks Mr. Hustle
