WOW!!

Wow has it really been that long since I posted anything out here. Well for those that continue to support me I want to say thank you. I am preparing for the upcoming Relay For Life on May 16 in Woodbridge. I am so excited and have been waiting to do this for a long time. Again thanks. Doing Better

Hello All how is it going out there. Well things for me are going well. I am moving around a lot more these days and the pain is easing up. I will be starting treatment soon but they have to take me through a procedure to test how much radiation my bone marrow can take. I must say I am very nervous about that part. But because I have the love and support from you all I am trying to be strong. I just can't wait for this to be over and I can go out and have fun. Speaking of having fun, in May 2009 there is a RELAY FOR LIFE here in Woodbridge, Va and I signed up to participate in the event because I was unable to particpate this year because I was going through treatment. Home From the Hospital - RECOVERY MODE

Hello All, well I had my surgery on Dec 11 and my doctor says she took out anything that looked harmful in my neck. So all I have left is my trachea, cardic artery, and parathyroid glands. I am very sore and in much pain but wanted to update you all. My two Aunts, Shirl and Pat were up here from Thursday til today to help me out. I must say it was wonderful having them here. They are so silly and made me laugh which is why I am still in pain. I can't wait for them to come back so we can really hang out. I can't talk for the next few days and I can't go up and downstairs or walk through the house alone. My boys and mom have been really helping me out. I owe them a lot. On top of all that I had an Old friend Dave drive me to and from Bethesda for this. He is so wonderful to set aside his time to get up at 0300 to take me to Bethesda by 0600. Then he stayed and made sure I was calm and returned to pick me up the next day. I want to thank him and his wife for their time. My family and I are forever grateful. We have received many calls and prayers and I thank you all for them. Once I get better I will type some more to inform you all on my treatment plan. All I know is it is going to be a very aggressive one. I will give as much detail as I can. Again thanks for all the love and support.

Surgery Date

Hello all, Ok I said I would let you all know the date. It is December 11, 2008. I will be at Bethesda, Maryland. I will hopefully be sent home December 12 to start recovery and then prepare for another bout of radiation or chemotherapy. Thanks for the support.

Update

Hey all how is it going? I want to say thanks to my family for taking the time to come see us this weekend. It was nice. Ok I am still having test done before they give me a date for surgery. I have an MRI scheduled for Friday November 14 and hopefully I will have my surgery the following week. You know I will keep you all update and I love you all for the support you are giving me, my boys, and mom.

Settling In

Good evening everyone, just wanted to put out a brief note to let you all know we are in the house and trying to get settled in. The boys are having fun at their new school and I am still trying to find my way around the office. Will update you all on medical stuff once I get more information from the doc on Monday.

Getting Closer

Hello Family and Friends, the day is almost here for us to move on from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. It has been wonderful here because I met a lot of wonderful people. We will be heading to South Carolina on Tuesday to spend time with family and then moving on to Virginia later in the week. Thanks for all the support.

Movers

Good day all. Well the movers were here yesterday and today to pack up the house. The days are moving fast and we are nervous but ready to go. I can't wait to start this new chapter in our lives. We are looking forward to getting out and seeing what Virginia has to offer.

Quick update, our internet connection will be down on Oct 6 until we get checked into a hotel or into our house. We will update the site as soon as we get access. Yes we will post pictures. :o)

Update on Frustration

Well I did not have to go sit at the hospital and stalk my doctor he called and explained why he did not return my call. Anyway here's the skinny, I am not going to have surgery until I check into my new unit at Quantico, Va. Yes I am happy about that. For one there are better doctors and two it makes more sense because I will be living up there. I am on leave now from Septembet 17 to October 7, so hit me up on the email and let me know what you think of all this.

FRUSTRATION

Hello all, I just wanted to say I am currently frustrated with my doctor. I called him on last Thursday to talk to him about our next step in this evolution and he has not returned my call yet and today is Wednesday. I am going to the hospital today and I am going to sit and wait for him to come out and give him a piece of my mind. I do not think he understands this is my life and I need some answers. I need to know when and where I am going to have surgery. I need your input please. I know I will be polite I am just frustrated right now, I know you all know where I am coming from.
