Survivor's Reception

Last night, April 18, 2008, I was invited to a Survivor's Reception at the Infant of Prague Parrish Hall to CELEBRATE LIFE for all Cancer SURVIVORS and their caregivers. Well 1st of all I have to say thank you to Ms. Carol Jamison for inviting me. Man it was an experience. I could not believe all the support and LOVE that was in that place. I felt like I was surrounded by family even though I had not met anyone in that room until that night. The COURAGE that I was given to continue to fight this battle. I was even put on the spot to tell about what I have been through so far, that's right I got up and spoke in front of a room FILLED with people, and those who know me will tell anyone that I do not speak in public. But y'all this was VERY DIFFERENT, I honestly felt like I was at a family reunion talking to aunts, uncles, counsins, brothers, and sisters. I even cried, yeah me, crying in public but please understand that is how COMFORTABLE I felt being there. The words of wisdom that everyone gave me, the prayers, the HUGS, oh man what a feeling that was. Ms. Jamison really changed my life by inviting me. I am sad that I am not going to be able to attend the Relay for Life that is happening next weekend because I will be going through treatment but I will get out there maybe tomorrow and walk my lap or two or three :-) so I can support those that are supporting me. I also received the first SURVIVORS 2008 T-Shirt, I would take a picture and post on here tonight but my camera is in the truck and my hair is standing on my hair. I will wear it on Monday to my appointment and take a picture then and post it online for you all. THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT, I LOVE YOU ALL and GOD BLESS!!!
